Why do I need a URL to get an API registraction?

I thought an API was a method I could use to obtain movie information.

If you're building a web application, include a link so that they can see what you're up to. A lot of work has gone into making TMDB, and the owners probably just want to see how the API is being used. If you don't have a website, try putting http://localhost
