It only seemed to work as a TV series. It failed as a movie both TV and theatrical. Someone at jumptheshark.com ( now at archive.org) brought up this truth.

Btw, the series has in recent weeks begun airing each Sat. morning from I believe 10a to 11a ET on MeTV. It's a fave series I watched during my early years, so I'm hoping to now and then catch an episode.
