Isn't this crime itself, is this same everywhere or Danish thing to allow suspect change his testimony completely contradicting previous testimony?

Detective's family backstory was completely unnecessary waste of time and seems also divers got way too much screen time for nothing happening, this should be at least 1-2 episodes shorter to drag less.
