I was on imdb but didn't comment much, although I was very interested in what people were saying. The forums helped demystify programs like Westworld for me. YouTube, as well.

This site has certainly made MANY IMDb board visitors come out of hiding and be more proactive. I was mostly included in this group as well. Here it feels like somewhat of a grassroots movement with the discussion boards being just days over a month old! It's really enjoyable seeing the site evolve towards a replacement of what IMDb pulled out from under our feet.

I've been considering this phenomenon. If I moved to a community of a few people, as opposed to New York City, would I be more vocal? I think I would be. The smaller community is less threatening. And then I would become an established, founding member, which is a comfortable platform to speak from. Or I am totally over thinking this! 😄

I think a part of it is, if you don't speak up, new visitors might think this new community is deserted and move on.
