Discuss The Walking Dead

Kill her off already. I almost hate to say it since I used to be a huge Carol fan. Her change from social-chameleon-badass-warrior-woman to this self-hating wannabe suicidal was much too quick and therefore just didn't make sense. I thought maybe there would be some sort of payoff with her character arc that could make me look past this. But that just hasn't happened and her character is so annoying now. The Carol Story is just dragging on. We get it, she doesn't want company and is waiting for something to end her. Just kill her or redeem her already. I'm starting to seriously dislike her. And that's just not fair to this once-amazing character.

clapclapclapclap Hallelujah! Actually I've hated her since she murdered those people back in the prison. There was no need to kill people because they had the flu.

I've wondered about that flu. Why hasn't this been an issue again. I don't recall hearing of any troubles with sickness from Rick and Co or any other groups. This doesn't seem to make much sense. Unless, of course, that flu had been imprisoned and once Rick and Co released it, it decided to continue in it's serial killing ways...

Well, when there are no people to spread it then the virus usually hits a dead end. If all the people who had it died or got better then there is no where for it to go. Just like eboli of which there is no cure. Eventually all victims either die or make it past it. This is why I am so pissed at Carol for killing those people. They had a good chance to survive it if meds were found. The chances of surviving eboli today are slim to none and you don't see people thown on an island to their fate like they used to do with leprosy victims.

Well, I meant other sicknesses, not specifically that same strain of flu. I suppose other settlements could have gone through similar issues involving sickness spreading and it just hasn't been mentioned, but where I live there is "flu season" every year. I understand that particular strain could have been some sort of "super-bug" or something. I just find it a little strange that sickness has not really been an issue since then.

Regarding Carol killing those people, she probably wanted to end it before it struck again. I can sort of see her viewpoint, even though quarantine and meds probably would have worked. Anyway, she did act too fast, even if it would have ended up needing to be done.

Well, keep in mind that in the show's timeline it has only been about two years since Day 1. I believe they only showcased one winter I think? So the seasonal flu hasn't had a lot chances to strike. Secondly, when you don't have a lot of interaction with other groups of people then the chances of catching these diseases drops dramatically.

Good point on not interacting with other groups. I thought that more time had passed than just 2 years. Interesting

Hated her when they turned her into Rambo, hated her even more when she was supposed to die the same time as T-Dog, this show would improve if it killed a few more characters that have been in it far too long.

Look at baby Judith for a timeline.

I agreed about killing off veteran characters. At the beginning we knew everyone was on the chopping block, except for probably Rick and Carl. Now that they have all these invested characters that fans love they don't want to kill them off. There is no longer much tension regarding the safety of the characters. This is a huge problem for a story that originally showcased that no one is safe. I thought they should have had Negan give the bat to Michonne at the beginning of this season. Not because I wanted her to die but because it would prove the show still had some balls and re-establish that no one is safe. Unfortunately, they took the safe route.

Well, they just killed off Glenn and Abraham both HUGELY popular characters. I wouldn't say the show has lost its nuts in this category.

I'm not so sure. There is a set of A-Group characters that we can assume are pretty much safe. Rick, Carl, Michonne, Daryl, Maggie; if any of them die, I will be shocked. Glen was a big one, I'll admit that, but also not terribly surprising given the comic and his fake death not long ago. Abraham was popular but I don't think any moreso than the other B-Group characters. The loss of Abraham doesn't really change the dynamic of the show or groups within the show. Sure, we don't get our awesome Abraham-isms (his quips were my favorite comic relief of the show) but his loss doesn't really seem to change much.

Well the only character that really changes the dynamic of the show would be Rick. Abraham was important because he not only knew how to fight but he was a bad MFer. A lot of people are missing him you can believe that.

Sorry, I don't want Carol to die. They've invested so much time into her making her a badass...and yeah, she does have a huge following now. If they kill Carol...I'd say it'll probably be towards the end of the series. You better believe they (the writers) are quite proud of what they have done with Carol...taking her from mild manner, meek and weak, beaten house wife...to a bad ass who is a force to be reckoned with. So no...not ready for her to die yet.

Blah, sounds like a bunch of SJW nonsense. What drives me nuts about Carol supposedly being this badass is the actress so looks so damn awkward holding a knife and rifles. The funniest example of this is when she is sniping at Terminus and she looks like she can barely hold the rifle up. Seriously people, get this woman some basic combat training with an onsite consultant for fk's sake. At least then her badassery is somewhat believable.

Plus I will never forgive her for murdering people for catching the flu.
