yes yes, great character. I feel like people who complain about Root are the ones who complain how needlessly over complicated the show became and how it was great when it had "case of the week" format. Finch and Root and their philosophical discussions about the Machine's purpose is what i love most about the show. The plots and the action and the rest of the team are of course great as well, but these two characters and what they have together on the screen is what's made it unique for me. Not only the writers did a great job developing her character, but Root also became one of the main forces on the show. She changed the Machine's code and eventually Finch's. Brought him to the breaking point and so needed change, so he finally could step over his principals and do what's needed to be done. Isn't that some great writing there? But it wouldn't be possible if Amy was a lesser actress, just imho. She did a great job playing Root.
If they ever make a sequel, Root could return like in the final episode.
Amy has made guest appearances in MacGyver (2016) as CIA agent Sarah Adler. Compared to Root, her character here is tame (who won't be), but I'm sure Bear would catch a whiff of Root in Sarah.
I seriously miss this show. One of my local stations reruns it occasionally. Here's hoping that they will rerun it again sometime early next year? I would love to buy the box set but do not have a spare $70.00.

I've seen some of the clips say they were filmed when the show was on a channel called City TV. But I don't know what area of the US or Canada that station broadcasts from.

I love Root. i hear so many people complaining about various aspects of her, but I think she's sly and witty and wicked smart.

You can always rewatch "Angel (1999-2004)":
Fred (Amy Acker) as a Vampire.
