the loss of muriel?

as you know if you're a regular family guy viewer, muriel got killed in a double episode of a season start, and i was wondering, did they kill off any character that you miss, and who did the voice of muriel, was it one of the regulars using a different voice or did someone lose a job?

Nicole Sullivan did the voice of Muriel. Don't worry, she still does various voices on the show. And there were only five episodes with Muriel.
