It looks like TMDB discussion boards are going to experience a sudden increase of popularity beginning today, I myself just got registered. So I thought: why not start a thread in the boards of my last addiction? That being Firefly, of course. Maybe we could use this one to share our first experience with this ill-fated tv-show.
For instance, I knew it existed but did not have the chance to watch it till this very same month, almost a decade and a half after its first broadcast. I sought info after seeing the DVD Serenity (and insta-recognizing Summer Glau, being a Terminator fan back then) in a store, and found out it was the epilogue to an already cancelled series. I've been looking forward to watch it ever since, and the time finally came. Needless to say, I liked it a lot, in spite of also being aware of its flaws.
So, 2017 and still discovering Firefly for the first time? Welcome aboard!

First heard about the show in 2006, but I kept putting it off for 2 years. Mid-2008 I finally watched it (and of course Serenity right after that), and I'm hooked ever since.
Almost every day I think of the renewal and what could have been... I think it's almost flawless as it is, but it needed at least 7 seasons, like Buffy (which is also exellent, BTW, as is everything Joss created...)

Hello ! Another Joss Whedon fanatic here, and refugee from IMDb ! Love all his stuff - Buffy - Angel - Firefly etc. Never get tired of anything of his. Even the much criticised Alien Resurrection, was made more palatable, for me, by the flashes of Whedon black humour.

I went with my friend to see a decent looking sci-fi movie in theaters. We had no idea there was a show. I bought the dvd box set soon after so the first time I watched firefly i at least got to watch it in the right order.

"Objects in Space" was my favorite episode.
First rate writing!
The writing in "Angel" was also outstanding.
