Item: Urusei Yatsura
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: According to the anime's episode page, most episodes have multiple segments, labeled on the website as "Episode #-A" and "Episode #-B," with each segment having its own distinct title and overview.
As such, the segments have been split in accordance with our anime guidelines.
Please move any added cast and crew members into their respective segments. Also please report any images that are incorrect (i.e. not from the segment they have been added to).
Moving forward, new episodes of Urusei Yatsura should be added as combined segments (i.e. the April 19, 2024 episode should be a single entry titled "Asuka Returns / A Stormy Date (1)" on TMDB) and previous segments will be merged. Travis, the admin, ultimately decided during an internal discussion about X-Men '97 that these types of segments shouldn't be split since that's not how they were originally released.
This is only with respect to the segment split, whether there should or should not be a second season was not discussed.

@raze464 we appreciate that mods follow and enforce the rules.
Who is responsible for changing the rules when the current rules aren't fit for purpose?

No. We do not appreciate it. The rules (absolute numbering, splitting up episodes) are shit, they're meant for cartoons like looney tunes, in a country with syndication (so basically the US). It's totally useless and ridiculous for animes. And we've only got those two here to copy and paste their answers. I wouldn't even care, if trakt and basically every app/addon wouldn't rely on tmdb (yeah, won't find sources because of this). And I hate trakt for beeing such cheap fucktards not offering other sources.
Tmdb is awesome for movies, ok for shows (at least newer ones), but sucks for animes.

Or trakt would listen and add another source for animes. Sadly "It's not possible" according to Justin/Vip boards discussion.
Weirdly, simkl does exactly that. They're using tvdb for movies/shows and AniDB for everything anime. I love it. Took some time but was totally worth it, at least for me.
Also the "westernized" way, putting animes in "seasons" isn't how it's supposed to be. That's why AniDB (therefore simkl), MAL, KITSU, anilist aren't doing this.
I'm using 100% simkl now, stremio, kodi/addons, plex everything's scrobbling to simkl. Trakt scrobblers still running, except plex, I'm not paying for trakt Vip just because a damn webhook which is free on simkl, but I don't care about trakt anymore. They're cheap fucks for not adding anything else than tmdb.
Tmdb won't listen EVER. They're gonna stick forever on rules meant for cartoons and applying them on animes. I'm just tired of this.

Thank you very much, this is already very good news! Will the elders also be regrouped?
As for the seasons it's a shame but on ADN the numbers are continuous so so be it. (But noted S02E36 for example)

Mhm. Weird. Complaints from us, on animes (urusei yatsura, tomo-chan) were totally useless but X-men made you guys think? Really? And without Travis it still wouldn't have changed?
Nah folks. That's plain weird. Personally I'm sticking to simkl/AniDB. At least till that numbering thing will change too 😉
Still, I'm glad for everyone still relying on trakt that at least this horrible segment thing is done for.
