Discovery should have been 10 years after Voyager.

TOS for its time was great and started trek but since then we had 3 shows (Tng, DS9, voy) and Enterprise. Even as a older guy who grew up with TOS when I think trek I think of TNG era but even tng seems a bit dated compared to DS9 and voy. DS9 is my favorite. Its to late now but the new trek should have been made 20 years after DS9. With tng era we have 3 shows almost 20 years and hundreds of shows developing trek background and cannon that should be respected.

I agree. It would be nice to see what has happened since the DS9 period. So many possibilities: What is Cardassia like now? What is Garak doing?world.) (For a while I had hoped for a new series that follow Garak and his role in the rebuilding of his What is the Federation's status with the Dominion? Does the Federation even go into the Delta Quadrant? What the Federation's relationship with the Romulans like now after the Dominion War?
