For the era, pretty entertaining show. Loved it as a tween in 1981. Watching it now all these years later after decades of evolved sophistication in television and cinema, I found it almost unwatchable due to its age except in part for nostalgic fulfillment, but more so the standout performance by Robert Culp, which cracks me up every scene. He brought a comedic nuance to the character I didn't quite grasp in my younger years. William Katt and Connie Sellecca did a fine job, and the chemistry between the characters worked well, but Robert Culp made the show what it was. I doubt it would have lasted even a full first season without him. Having said that, not sure I'll convince myself to watch any more episodes than the few I have.

HahA! I was a huge fan of Robert Culp in this show. The show should have been named after Bill Maxwell...he was the brains behind the whole operation, and Hinkley was just the sidekick. Like you, I tried watching this show again a while back and I could barely make it to the 15 minute mark before I stopped. Nostalgia is more palatable sometimes in small doses, or better left in our memories.

I made it through the first three episodes, then watched the last unaired "heroine" episode because I'd never seen it before, only heard about it. It does NOT hold up well. In fact, the effects and writing, although more forgivable back then, even fell short for me back when it originally aired, much less now all these decades later. I'm tempted to watch more solely because of Culp, if i can muster the fortitude. On the other hand, maybe I'll just track down a copy of Gene Roddenberry's Spectre for a healthy dose of Culp. Used to love watching re-airs of that TV movie as a kid. OH wait never mind, the full movie is in on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LimAIJAzo1U. Haha! Definitely watching this.
