I was a little too. Even if the cards had been reversed, I would have felt a little better about it but there was absolutely no research put into tarot when they wrote the script for that episode. :(

Of course not, tv show producers know the average tv viewer is an idiot...so "Death" is "Death", no need for narrative according to them. Have you noticed most shows on American TV are geared toward the lowest common denominator?
You realise that tarot reading isnt a 'real' thing? Doesnt really matter which way they are turned seeing as it is all nonsense, along with homeopathy, astrology, psychic readings and crystals

Tarot Reading is a real thing. The cards exist and each one means something. Whether the card is reversed when pulled means something different than if it's upright. Now, you don't have to believe that it foretells anything. That's fine. But even if you look at it as a simple card game, each card still has its own meaning.
