Source please? I couldn't find any mention of a season split anywhere.

I'm sorry, but neither is a reliable source. The ABC website and the first IMDb thread both seem to indicate that a season two never happened:

On the Unofficial Silver Sun forum, most of us emailed the ABC and collectively got these results: There are no current plans for a second series; There are no current plans for a DVD, and They are waiting to see how well the series does overseas as to wether they will do a second series.

December 2nd 2004: we're still waitin to see whats happening with a second series. But with u guys support we'll hopefully be shootin again soon!

I know wikipedia isn't a truly reliable source. I am trying to get this fixed so that it reads properly on trakt.tv which currently lists 60 episodes. 40 in S1 and 20 in S2 https://trakt.tv/shows/silversun

OVguide imports from TVDb probably anyway. I don't think they have their own database. TV show databases/wikipedia are no proper sources. I'm with @banana_girl on this.

Your best bet is to get the data fixed on TVDb, they go by official website also. For Trekt, you can sent a support ticket asking to remove episode 21-40 from season 1, as TVDb (right now) has it (incorrectly) split in two seasons - probably was like our data before though, otherwise Trakt wouldn't import 40 episodes for season 1.

The confusion probably arose when Seven Network put a break in between the first and second half of the season (mid-season break), while ABC later aired it continuously. However, it's still just one season, 40-part series (as also stated in this news article -- http://z4.invisionfree.com/Silver_Sun/ar/t1236.htm) A second series/season was never commissioned.

I'll fix this data entry. Seems like the episode data is totally wrong too. Not Seven and not ABC airing.. o,o dunno where Wikipedia got that from, but it seems to have been copied to here.

Also not truly reliable sources, but:

  • AustralianTelevision.net has it in 1x40
  • Screen Australia has it in 1x40 too ( vs something like H2O )

I swear I searched long and hard @bcd647, but I couldn't find enough infos to agree to a big change slight_frown

That's a good idea!

Yeah, it's somewhere on my to do list. But I would possibly, probably add both networks (because of that deal referenced in the article you linked) .

I guess ABC Australia would go in production (I have seen nothing of the show, but sometimes those financers also get listed as "in co-production with ..." I think.) Maybe I'll see if I can find the opening / ending credits somewhere online :-P

For now, I did fix the airdates grin

I watched the beginning and endings of E01, E02, E15 and E39 and added all the main cast and crew ;D

Only way I see ABC "credited" is at the end-end with the copyright mark though...

Ok. I accept that my information is incorrect and want to thank you both for your efforts in resolving this issue.

I will contact the TVDb to get the data fixed on there, once that's complete trakt should correct itself within 24 hours.

Also @alltimemarr at the very beginning of the opening credits it says "The Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Beyond Simpson Le Mesurier Present", therefore I believe you are correct that the show was produced by Beyond Simpson Le Mesurier Productions Pty Limited with financial support from the ABC

I feel bad because it's their show, not Seven Network's. But not too bad because they agreed to a controversial deal lol Thanks Marr!

Great!! It should be fine, but If you run in any trouble, please report back. I'd like to know about it relaxed
