I don't understand why a season being released in another country than where it originated from means it isn't an official release. For example there are plenty of video games part of a franchise released only in certain other areas, like Japan for example. Despite this, they are almost always still considered a cannonical entry in that franchise, and i don't understand why the same doesn't apply to tv shows.
