Yes...They should have called it a day, after Pru died. I never got used to the substitute cousin, and it got sillier. Even Leo succumbed to bad writing and stupid stories, and I thought he was one of the best things about it.

Are you talking about Page? She replaced Pru. And she was a sister. She was great but the show was never quite the same without Shannon Doherty.

Too bad Shannen had to be such a crazy bitch and got kicked out of every show she was ever in. I remember the story was going around her brief departure from Charmed back in the day. Apparently she kept picking up the fight with everyone on set making it impossible for the crew to do their job. I missed Pru a lot though, she was my favourite character.

I've always heard she was difficult. She was on BH 90210 too. I can't remember who she was fighting with on there but on Charmed, I think it was Alyssa that she couldn't get along with. She's a difficult woman or at least was when she was younger, but she's also a far better actress than most everyone she's ever worked with. You could see her talent when she was a little girl on 'Little House on the Prairie' and a young teen on 'Our House.' Aaron Spelling always loved her though and kept giving her chances.
What hurts the most is that after Prue's death, it seemed like she had never existed. In the next seasons they barely mentioned her, even though she was one of the original Charmed Ones . It felt like a reboot.
*****SPOILER*****
In the final episode photos were shown of everyone, the last photo was with Piper, Phoebe and Paige. No Prue.
They might have disliked the actress Shannen Doherty in the real world, but in the TV show this is a fantasy and Prue is their loving sister, one of The Power of Three. The producers and writers did a disservice to Prue and damaged the image of the Charmed Ones. Watching the last scenes of the final episode, seeing everyone happy and hopeful for the future, children laughing, it all felt bittersweet, shallow. How could I respect the Charmed Ones, when they have shunned even the memory of one of their own. Â

Prue, the true Charmed One.
In the commentary for the final episode, one of the producers, James L. Conway explained that due to the final season's budget being drastically cut, they didn't have the money to pay for royalties for Shannan and Dorian (Darryl). Therefore they didn't have the rights to show pictures of either of them during the photo montage. On a good note, Prue does come back in the comics but in the body of another woman as explained here.
Yeah, I totally missed Prue! I was devastated by her death. I hated Paige for a long while during season 4, but eventually I got kinda over it. Charmed was the first (and one of only) shows I really became obsessed with. I got lots of Charmed Books, the "paper" books, and digitally, and I have the comics digitally, I have one magazine I found here in the Netherlands. <3 Lots of posters! :D
@torockchick  Thanks for your reply. Of course I know about the reasons given. I can understand not showing a photo or even a shadow or silhouette. What has never been clarified is if the character Prue is also bound legally to the actress in such a way that even mentioning the name Prue would mean paying royalties. If so, then anyone, including the publishers of comics, would have to pay Shannen for using the character in any way, shape or form.
If not, Â in the last scene they could have told the children the story of Prue .Â
Oh well, it's all water under the bridge. Perhaps one day they'll do a TV series sequel where she takes her rightful place among the Charmed Ones.
"Charmed" is a wonderful TV show that I would recommend to anyone who loves the Worlds of Fantasy, Myth and Magic.
@wonder2wonder No the name was never bound to actress, I do remember that in the two-episode series finale, Prue was mentioned. I do recall the other sisters had to mention to Patty and Penny why she wasn't around how Paige became to be a Charmed One. A remake of the Charmed series is in the works and sadly it's not going to be about the Halliwell clan. It's going to be about three woman from 1976 New Enlgand getting their powers as the Charmed Ones. It's also going to be broadcast on The CW.
Actually you can see Prue, just freeze the wall and I think It was to the left or right of the photos. Still I'd like a portrait. Also I loved the first three seasons and wished it continues to season five using the original idea.
I hated that they killed off Prue but glad they did not try and recast the character. That would have been awful. I had hoped to have Prue in the series finale and we could see all four Charmed Ones.

Freeze what wall? I just watched the final episode ( for the umpteenth time) and kept looking for what you are talking about and did not see it. It would be really cool though.
