It's not "all shadows and no substance," but it is a "hard to see what's in the shadows" eye strainer, like "The Mandalorian," which I stopped watching after season one to preserve my tired eyes. So far, "Skeleton Crew" kids have a "Phantom Menace" naivete, which would result in them made slaves, in the pirate port. It's "OK," which is a giant step above the usual LucasFilm Dumpster Fire/Flopbuster. But that's only up to episode 2, so it remains to be seen if the DEI/ESG/TheMessage/BRIDGE garbage shows up. Well, back to the second half od episode #2, with it's numerous commercial breaks for things I don't need or want.;)
