庚子国变后，神州大地满目疮痍，贵族后裔良乡、革命党人杨凯之、北洋武卫右军李人骏等成为最早一批赴日本士官学校留学深造的中国青年，他们与早期革命者俞天白、逃婚女青年秋红相遇，从此五个人的命运被大时代编织在了一起。归国后，良乡意欲培育大清新军事力量，却深陷腐朽的旧时代漩涡…… 杨凯之在革命浪潮中经历生死蜕变，英勇牺牲。此间，革命党、立宪派、北洋系较量不断，最终，革命党人推翻了封建帝制，迎来辛亥革命的巨浪。而秋红也见证了杨一帆等人在新思潮的启迪下，继续前行，认清了中华民族复兴的必由之路，迎来了新民主主义革命的曙光。

After the Gengzi Kingdom changed, the land of China was devastated, and young people with aspirations rose up to save their homeland.
