主要围绕着北纬路上一个名不见经传的相声班社——万春社展开，旨在通过小园子里的小人物折射出众生相，“角儿们”在磨练技艺的过程中不断地改变着对于相声的理解、对于名利的心态、对于演员与观众之间的关系的领悟。通过该剧也希望能为观众展现相声演员台前幕后的故事，台上是嬉笑怒骂互相成就的表演者，台下是谦恭友爱相互包容的师兄弟，“台上无大小、台下立规矩”用全景模式立体展现属于相声人独有的反转魅力。
