Laverne Cox is not a very good actress. She's the weak link. Someone else said that she's trying to act more like a cisgender white teenage girl than a black lady in her 40s. I've noticed this also.

I've only seen the first two episodes so far but I thought they might show more of the transphobia one might have to deal with. Years ago I knew a trans - albeit not as passable as Laverne - and people would stare at her, sometimes giving her dirty looks, and teenagers would snicker and smirk when they saw her then quickly walk away when she'd get near them.
