Hi, you posted a lot of extra reports that weren't needed. What we need here is one list of which seasons you think are correct and which ones are incorrect. At a quick glance the incorrectly named seasons (2010, 2011 and so on) have wrong season overviews for example. So some work is needed here. If you have an official source that would be great. One of our TV experts should be able to help you eventually.
I pretty much rebuilt the whole series from scratch. Two groups of users tried to follow two different -- and unfortunately both incorrect -- season schemes. I tried to follow the original order as best as I could, but the History website doesn't make it easy.
The start of Season 4 is confirmed with the official website, but there is no consensus on when the season ended. The official website just kept adding the new episodes to the "current season" and then changed to a year-based episode guide.
The start of Season 5 is unconfirmed. I made an educated guess which might or might not be correct. It seems to match the late 2014 listing though.
A new season started on 2013-05-27 according to the official Twitter account. It seems to match the 2014 listing.
A new season, confirmed with the press release, premiered on 2013-10-09.
Season 8 is confirmed with the official website. However, History confusingly renamed the season "Season 9" in early 2015.
The next season, "officially" Season 10, is confirmed with the press release and the official website. The last few episodes have unreliable episode numbers though.
The next season, "officially" Season 14, is confirmed with the official website. The new website went live during this season. So all the following seasons have confirmed data.
Hey @banana_girl since you look to be educated in this matter, is the new season, season 17? It looks like maybe a new season started at the end of October? History.com just redirects to history.ca for me, hard to validate things.
I don’t know what exactly happened today but somehow I now have every episode twice on trakt.tv
once in the „original“ sorting by year and once in the - I guess - new order. Is that correct?
Please see the TV guidelines: "When seasons are re-organized [...] we do not re-arranged the aired seasons/episodes. The new season is simply added as the next season."
There is a post above that explains in detail, with links to official sources, why there are 16 (now 17) seasons.

I added the year-based and the current History seasons as alternative order: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/32025-american-pickers/episode_groups

It's supposed to be Season 17 on TMDb, but the (newest) revised order is here.
