Two of Chin's interests were the school band and football.

Season 1. Episode 3. "Malama Ka Aina":

While watching a football game, Chin tells Grace that he used to play quarterback for that red team.

Season 4. Episode 3. "Ka 'oia'i'o ma loko":

When Chin goes to Jerry for help in solving a case, Jerry tells Steve and Danny how they met. It was at Manoa Valley Band camp, 1985. Chin was starting trumpet player and Jerry starting French horn. There is also a picture of them both playing in the band.

Season 7. Episode 11. "Ka'ili Aku":

At Chin's birthday party there is a short video with pictures of his childhood. The last one is of him as a football player.

He was also in the Math club.
