Seems like he just cant catch a break! He has had the most close calls than the whole team put together! This kidnapping was so unexpected! (Feb 2 episode)
Anybody know when the show will be returning? I couldn't find it on IMDB.

I think it returns on March 2, first Friday after the Olympics end.

You are welcome. If you can't find an answer at IMDb (which sucks by the way!), you can usually find an answer at Wikipedia.

Adam is now a member of the Five-0 Task Force. He is team of one on a special mission, but it seems like he has no clue what he's doing. His character has become more pitiful than ever. Even Jerry is better qualified in his job.
Adam gets his ass kicked, tortured and framed for murder this season. I expect that he will be killed in the end.
Will Kono come to his funeral (if they can find his body)? Probably not, they'll have to use a double, CGI, some smart editing, or a creative story to explain her absence.

I stopped watching at the end of last season due to TPTB dropping Kono & Chin & even though I like Adam (& the actor), there was no logical reason to leave his character on the show without Kono!

I stopped watching too, and posted about this here.
Then I saw a trailer where Adam was being tortured with ants crawling over his face. I started watching his storyline, hoping that there would be a surprise appearance by Kono rescuing him, but nothing.
Just him being more of a klutz.
In the next episode she and Chin Ho are only mentioned by name. Adam has to pay to protect them from being killed. He's being extorted by his own newly discovered sister Noriko, who, as one of the leaders of the Yakuza, is even more ruthless than the brother he accidentally killed. Of course Adam loses all his money and his help Jessie (killed by Noriko?).
So his character is all messed up now. If they continue this plot, it's not only Adam's life, but also that of Kono and Chin Ho that will be in danger. They'll be killed off-screen, like on the TV show "NCIS", where Ziva (the actress Cote de Pablo had left the show) died off-screen.

It's ridiculous what they have done to the character. The character was always a strong (although flawed) man & after everything him & Kono went through to split them up was really dumb!

How did he attain the skills he has. It's like the guy can fight like somebody in UFC, he can drive like an experienced racecar driver, and he's got the skills of a detective with 30 years experience. where did all this come from? He was just born that good?

Here is an article about Adam. Simply put his father was the head of the Yakuza, Adam was also a 'member'. He probably learned his skills growing up in that environment?

From what I understood, he was not raised like that and was kept away from it. It says it right there that his father never wanted him to follow in his footsteps and he never did

He did in the beginning. IIRC that was part of his beginning storyline, how he was trying to extricate himself from the Yakuza.
The article on Wiki isn't very through.

In S2E04 "Pu'olo" Adam was with the Yakuza hunting down the man (Joe White) who he thought had killed his father (Hiro Noshimuri). It was then assumed that he had taken his father's place as the leader of one of the major clans.
Hiro might have wanted his oldest son Adam to not follow in his footsteps, but without someone else to take over the business after he disappeared (presumed dead), there would have been a struggle within the clan for leadership, weakening its hold on power within the Yakuza and among the other criminal organizations in Asia.
So, Adam had to step in and take over. He did try to cut his ties by selling the business and go legitimate, but there were others of the clan, including his brother Michael, who did not agree and saw him as weak, especially when he and Kono became a couple.
Michael believed Kono as the cause of his brother's weakness, selling out Hiro's inheritance, and he tried to get rid of her. When he was killed by Adam, his opponents in the Yakuza decided that Adam was a liability (and no one leaves the Yakuza alive) and he had to be eliminated.
Notes:
One can assume that Adam did learn how to fight and handle weapons.
Did he acquire those skills while growing up or after he took over his father's business?
He's always been very keen in learning new things . Kono is a better fighter than he is, but he can handle himself. Of course on television everything is exaggerrated, but in his case, with him getting captured and beaten so often, his skills appear to be minimal to non-existent.
His continuous self-doubt, wanting to do good and so prove to everyone that he is not like his father or brother (even going as far as confessing to justified killing of his captors and going to prison for this), makes him a very anxious and indecisive person.
He should take Steve or Danny for example. They would not hesitate to break the law and even kill if they feel it's justified (according to their rules).

Thanks Wonder, my brain doesn't work as well as it used to, so I forgot some of the details.

I guess.... I don't know, it still seems really farfetched to me that he'd have those kinds of skills to that extent.
