Sheetz...Thanks for the thumbs up πon Wolf House.
Yes, I have read a lot of the Prey series, but then got hung up on Michael Conelly. Amazon has a series called Bosch and it's cast perfectly. Waiting for season 2 to start.

I didn't put two and two together on that Bosch program, I'm wild about Harry! Like you said, so much to watch.....
My favorite character is Branson. I really love them all including Thomas. Should finish up tonight and sure hope he has a happy ending. All the characters are really layered. Saw in pintrist that they might make a movie (Hollywood will never do it justice) also that Jullian Fellowes (sp) may write a prequel.
I have a love/hate relationship with Lady Mary. Must she be such a snob at times? Must she be so nasty to Lady Edith?
+Annamarie, I know we've discussed this earlier. I am currently watching Episode 1, Season 5. Barrow is bullying Baxter trying to get the goods on Mr. Bates. I really can't stand him; what a creep. Did you begin to like him in Season 6, because of the process he put himself through? Or did you always like him? I hope I'm not beating a dead horse. Wow, what a horrible expression that is!
I think Thomas started pulling at my heart strings when he was revealed to be gay...also he is very good looking. Thomas did a lot of cowardly acts, but by the
final he redeems himself. I really disliked O'Brien.
From what I've read, homosexuality was "tolerated" by the upper classes, and despised by the lower back then. I don't care about his sexual persuasion, I just hated his bullying. In the end, he did turn himself around. Yes, O'Brien was nasty! Rose can be a little sneak, too. But I probably was worse as a teenager. How do you feel about Bunting, the school teacher? Everyone has a right to their opinion, but when you're a guest at someone's dinner table, it's the height of rudeness (as my mother, the etiquette empress, would say) to bait your host. I would have gotten a kick out of watching that scene with my mom.......
Bunting was way out of line and I am was happy James did not stay with her. He was a good man that could see both sides of the picture.
Those people were so judgemental about illicit sex back then. Felt so bad for the maid (was her name Elanor? )who became pregnant by the recovering officer. Also Lady Edith, and having to hide her child and not claim her as her own blew my mind.
The parenting skills of the uppers left me laughing. Imagine, a nanny to change diapers etc., so you could continue to have a grand social life. I imagine that continues for some today!
Tell me about it! I was a single mom in the mid-seventies, and there was still plenty of stigma then. Thank heaven they had recently developed baby slings, because I had to bring my daughter everywhere. I hear modern mothers, with husbands who help nowadays, complaining that they need a break, and I laugh. I loved Isobel Crawley for helping the prostitutes. She got on my nerves sometimes, but basically, she was an awesome woman! What income did she live on?
Good question about her income. Her husband was a Crawley, so maybe a lord left her money. Isobel was wonderful and loved her interaction with Lady Violet. So many great quotes in this series. Words of wisdom really.
Are you going to be watching the new Fx series Feud:Bette and Joan? I am looking forward to it. Jessica Lange is my favorite actress. Susan Sarandon is a drip in real life, but she is a good actress. I am going to start a discussion on this.
Some one else has started a discussion also. I just commented there.
Wolf House is good, though I have trouble as to who the characters are. Heard the name Thomas Moore but have forgotten his place in history, for instance.
Anna, do you ever do historical research online to see how accurately the programs are portrayed? I'm not recommending it, because it will spoil the story. I don't care about spoilers myself; good acting, interesting characters, a good story and beautiful settings are what I enjoy in a show. And I think surprise is horribly overrated! But a lot of people hate spoilers. How about you?
I'm watching the final season now. Mary has had her hair bobbed. I think it's amazing that this series, with it gorgeous costumes and styling, filmed her with her hair like a complete mess. The "Bob" was a razor cut. The back of Mary's head looks like they stuck a wig on her and left some of her real hair sticking out. Which of course is what they did, but it's not supposed to look like it!

Haha Sheezcrazy...it did look odd.
I I really liked WolfHouse except for the decapitation of Anne Bowlyn. I cannot get that actress and scene out of my mind. Haunts me at night when I go to sleep. The way she shook in anticipation and was looking for someone to save her. Do you have any tips to put this out of my mind? Has this ever happened to you?
I love to read reviews on amazon, especially movies about this. Some are more informative than the movie. For instance, James Cromwell is either presented as a saint or sinner. Same with Thomas Moore. Being indoctrinated with Catholic beliefs in my childhood, I had heard of St. Thomas Moore. Now I see an entirely different side of him.
I may start watching THE AMERICANS next. Never saw it and have heard good things.
Have you ever watched a little known show on fx called BASKETS?
About Anne Boleyn: maybe you can bring a book to bed and read yourself to sleep? I bring my kindle to bed so I can read with the lights out so as not to bother my husband. I basically pass out reading. Do you think that will work for you? You have a compassionate nature. I think that's a wonderful thing! I went to the Tower of London and placed my head on the very same block that Anne did. That didn't bother me. But when my daughter and I were in the room she stayed in, we looked at one another and ran out. The atmosphere there is creepy and depressing.
I don't watch either of those shoes, so I can't help you out.
Do you have a smart tv? Most of the new flatscreens are smart. I ask because if so, you can watch YouTube on there, and they have incredibly good content. I watched War and Peace with Anthony Hopkins on YouTube last month, it was fantastic.
