What makes them specials according to you? The official website lists 26 episodes, all aired on an consecutive weekly basis, no special distinction nor mention of them as anything else than normal episodes.

Keep in mind DVD orders won't always be the same as the original broadcast order, on TMDb we always follow the latter.

On the official TBS website. https://www.tbs.co.jp/chobits/ (and not old/story/index) there are 9 albums, according to them 8 albums and one general. From 1 to 8 are the episodes that I say from 1 to 24, 24 being "「ちぃ だけの人」". On disc 9, which they didn't even want to give it a 9 because they are extras, they put three episodes: 「新保・すもも語る」 「稔・柚姫 語る」 「日比谷・琴子 語る」(未放送)

The link you pass is not the link that appears as soon as you enter chobits on the official website. If you type "chobits tbs" in google the official link is https://www.tbs.co.jp/chobits/, but rather it is something that you have to look for since it is considered old. (see link)

As you say, that is the original official website and it is the one that must be taken into account. On that website, they sold it in 9 DVDs, the 9th being the extras. And being in 9, those chapters that I mention.

I bought chobits when they launched it in Spain (more than 20 years ago). There were 24 episodes. For me that is original and it remains exactly the same on the official website.

The feeling I have is that if I buy Chobits in both the old version and the updated version, in both, they will give me 8 DVDs with 24 episodes and a final DVD that is not numbered with those episodes that you do not want to consider extras. The Movie DB is supposed to catalog that content in the format that people can have in their homes and if that is not taken into account, the result is not what was expected.

Check if disc 9 is extra, as the first 8 discs were sold for 6000 yen and the ninth for 4500 yen.

The problem is that what you use to number the episodes is the temporary edition of the chapters, chapter 9 is a summary of the first 8, chapter 18 is a summary of 10 to 17. That is done in other series and not for These are considered official chapters.

As indicated by @Mikedeth5 , we are not going as per the DVD release, but as per the original Japanese TV broadcast.

If you want it in another order, you can use or create an episode group.
