Thoughts:
The last ten minutes should've been the whole episode. It was the only well written pair of scenes, and the choreography in the fight scene was well done. Did not like how they brought Robin back. With this many cop outs, they are losing the intensity. Other than that, the cold open was a pleasant introduction, and the rest of this episode was mostly cringe and the special effects are the same as always. There are no repercussions that have changed the characters. It seems like, from the Promo, Killian killed David's dad. Way to go the easy route, but it seems interesting. Hopefully it's good.
Overall Rating (out of ten):
6.5/10

THIS!!!
It really bothers me how anyone can be brought back at any time, there are no stakes. They are trying to make us believe Emma's in real danger this season because of Gideon, but we all know, no matter what happens, she'll be ok. It's lazy writing in my opinion.

It isn't really Robin and it isn't going to last anyways. He will be gone in a few episodes.

I really hope so. I know moving on is a slow process, but we've already been this route with Regina. Taking Robin away from her again is only going to make things worse. I hope they do something else with her character. Also, is anyone else interested in that Fairy Realm?
Gideon actually sounds like an interesting villain, with a hero complex, something we've never had before. His emotional and physical abuse seems to be backstory enough, so I hope they don't delve too much into his past in order to clear up any ambiguity. He seems to have went through trauma - and although I'm kind of on edge with whatever Gold is doing, at least we'll have a good antagonist.
However, they continue to rewrite things, and this whole "so I can become the savior," does not seem right, prevent me from truly appreciating this subplot.
Still interested.

This was really my favorite episode in all of Season 6. Everything clicked. The Emma-August moments were the best parts. I like her relationship with him way more than with either Regina or Hook.

Yeah I liked Emma-August a redeeming quality of an episode I'm afraid might be forgettable in the long run.

I thought the Emma and August scenes were the best part of the episode too.
I am still not sure about Gideon. I think his character is a bit over the top for me. He comes off as just crazy and i don't find that interesting. I do think something traumatic happened to him and seeing what was going on in the dark fairy land should be interesting, but i keep thinking that Gideon will just be turned back into a baby again at the end of the season, so that he can't remember the trauma.
