Did I miss something but did they say what happened to him exactly?
Vera told Ambrose that he just left but it hinted that she killed him by putting Jimson weed in his tea. Or did he really just leave? Seemed like that was the only loose end (I thought the body in the lake would've been him)

Yeah, no clues given as to where he went. I quite like the odd loose end rather than daft coincidences to make every character relevant in the finale.
