Did this show lose something when it went from black and white to color?

I'm kind of on the fence with this one. On the one hand, it was just one episode, the pilot that was black and white. But on the other hand, I really liked it in black and white and when something that you really like goes from black and white to color (think Dark Shadows) it kind of ruins it a bit. Thoughts?
