Luca is uncomfortable after the tensions following the attack and, tempted to leave the police station, he inquires about the procedures for becoming a private investigator.

Manrico tries to convince Giovanna to take a break, she is hesitant. The police station is dealing with a delicate case of kidnapping and blackmail of a bank manager, whose daughter is held hostage. For Mauro there are surprises, Paula is finally back, but the girl reacts badly to the fact that Tiberio has moved in with Mauro.

A dramatic story of jealousy involves two young people: long engaged, he does not accept the end of the love, and above all jealousy blinds him; the girl after some initial signs of violence from her ex reports him to the police of the district, but then reconsidering withdraws the complaint: this unfortunately will cost her life: her ex discovers her with her new lover stabs her; desperate he will attempt suicide but this time the officers will stop him. Giovanna confronts Saro, Manrico is close to her. Scalise would like to convince the boy to collaborate but to no avail. For the moment there is no evidence to arrest him and therefore they must release him, but the officers of the district are after him. In the meantime Paula asks Luca to investigate the seriousness of an airline that offers her a job as a hostess and asks Luca to keep this work appointment secret. Tiberio, in order not to weigh on the relationship between Mauro and Paula, decides to leave his son's house.

Saro and Laura are being watched. They want to escape and the girl, having learned from her boyfriend the whole truth about the attack, would still like to stay with him and escape; but Saro, having arrived at Laura's, is surprised by his future executioner: Vito Tonnara who kills him in cold blood in front of Laura and then escapes from the precinct officers. Later, Laura at the police station finally manages to identify Tonnara by giving a face to Scalise's persecutor. Meanwhile, in the precinct, Luca, following some investigations connected to a dog found at the end of its life, has discovered that a dog breeder is actually a crook who organizes clandestine fights, sending several animals to the slaughterhouse. Mauro recognizes the robber following the jeweler's complaint: he was a childhood friend of his, Paolo Acerri, known as Pablo the Gitano. The boys of the district are now busy capturing him. Giovanna understands that she has become a personal target of Vito Tonnara who wants her dead to avenge the death of his son. Tonnara has been abandoned by the Sicilian dome, now he is a "loose cannon" who has nothing left to lose and will not find peace until he has killed Giovanna. Meanwhile, Parmesan and Ingargiola discover that Vittoria's boyfriend has a criminal record and would like to inform the girl of this. For Mauro and Paula things are not going well: he would like to spend more time with her who instead dedicates herself exclusively to work.
