My favorite Martian is the mad scientist head of The Alpha Group, who want to get their evil paws on a deadly biological weapon known as TOD-5.
This was generally a lackluster outing. The IMF's plot hinged on Barbara Anderson's proclamation to a key bad guy that he sure looks handsome. (And this less than an hour after her alleged boyfriend died of an alleged plague. She didn't seem very broken up about. The bad guy really should have known better than to fall for it.)
On the plus side, a third party character is introduced that is neither strongly affiliated with the bad guys nor anticipated by the IMF. It was necessary for our boys to improvise. There are some shoot-outs near the end. When this show has to resort to such shenanigans, I feel like the writers have lost.
Still, it wasn't a complete loss. It was fun watching the main stooge (who sure looks handsome) try to figure out what is happening to him. We get to savor his growing panic. (I must reiterate, though, that he should not have been taken in so easy. He was written to supposedly be a "professional".)
Ray Walston makes the most of the few scenes that are given to him and he manages to come across as reasonably menacing.
I miss having a Rollin or Paris around for the really sly undercover work.
Oh well. At least this is some new material I haven't seen before.

If I remember correctly, Michael Conrad played the third party but I was under the impression that he worked for Ray Ralston's character and was keeping track of Peter Haskell's character for Ralston.

TBH, I was very uncomfortable with watching Ray Walston play a bad guy.

Fun fact: Peter Haskell played a crew member of a B17 that General Savage was flying over Germany when those mean Nazis had the gall to shoot down my favorite USAAF General in the 2 part first season episode(s) called "P.O.W".

My DVD copy of Star Trek -- The Animated Series has a special feature that tells us how many of the personnel on the show also worked on other shows (coincidentally sold by the same company that produced this DVD). It was called "Connections" or somesuch.
My Mission Impossible DVDs have no extras at all.
If they decided to remaster and re-release them or something, they should hire you, Maria, to point out some "connections" for every episode. Make sure you "connect" to other shows distributed by CBS video (or Paramount or whoever owns the DVD distribution rights).
You certainly are knowledgeable on this topic.

@sukhisoo:One thing I've noticed about the Classic Mission Impossible Universe is that people fall in love with each other VERY quickly (whether it's IMF Agents pretending to fall for bad guys/girls, IMF Agents actually falling for bad guys/girls, IMF Agents falling for innocents, the possibilities are endless).
