That is my absolute favorite of the 1980's iteration. IMHO the best of the new ones. I recently found a VHS tape of this episode I copied back then, complete with original commericials. Bush-1 was president, and our local tv news anchor, now an old grizzled reporter, was a rookie back then. Yes, I still own a VHS player.

Wow, that's a long walk along memory lane.
I enjoyed the episode then with the simple, but still cool - or is it hot - effects, like burning/smoking footprints and flashy eyes.

Most assuredly. That's just about the time CGI effects were being experimented with, but I think those you mentioned were physical fx. .. simple but cool. Those and the devil worshipping chants are still spooky today!

The opening scene - the sacrifice of a woman - reminded me of that of the TV series Hammer House of Horror (1980).

@lima-2 :😨: Zubronik's Ghost was one of a few episodes where Dan conducts the mission briefing but says that he can't go on the mission because the title guest star character knows him (but DOESN'T know that Dan is an American Intelligence Agent). This plot point was also used in the episode Elena.
