Hey team,
First, I am an absolutely huge fan of you guys. If making a financial donation to the cause is possible, please provide the link. I'll gladly give you guys money if you make this exception.
And before I get into it, please believe me - I've read literally ALL the threads on this, some several times. Here are my thoughts:
The single point of breakdown in the logic I see going on here, at least from what I've read, is that you are not allowing a "DVD Order" when there are clearly more than one example of exceptions, and the point of the "DVD Order" is to provide for exactly that.
Without trying to come across cheeky, I'm ready for you to quote, "This isn't true according to our rules" or whatever variation you want, but all it makes me think is that this site is run by executives.
What's boggles my mind is that you guys do an ABSOLUTELY AND UNQUESTIONABLY PHENOMENAL JOB WITH ALL THE WORK YOU PUT IN. You are clearly sincere in upholding the goals in your "contributions bible".
I get that "it was aired a certain way" and I don't dispute that. I'm disputing the idea that we cannot have a "DVD Order" for this show because for whatever reason this is a show that "you haven't debated about for months on end to make an exception for."
I'm actually curious just how many shows have exceptions, because I'm betting at least one of you guys is painfully aware of them and you keep a list somewhere. I'm also curious about the number of "pending exceptions" or "exceptions in discussion" there may be.
Based on that volume, I can understand if you don't want to "open the floodgates" - but I'm curious why in 2025 this is still not allowed, especially when there's a solution that the system allows for but people are prevented from using because no exception exists when one clearly should.
Take care friends.

There are no exception in Firefly. This is the normal use of an episode group : ordering differently existing episodes.
Yes, and we regret it. There are many more users complaining that we have added special episodes to accommodate the episode group than user satisfied.
As indicated, the decision to make an exception for "Money Heist" has been taken while that series was running on Netflix. We wouldn't have take this decision now that the series is finished.
We do not provide "DVD order" for series, we provide episode groups. These episode groups can eventually be used to create a DVD order listing if it is possible by simply ordering differently the existing episodes. The main use of episode groups is to accommodate the series that are broadcasted in different orders.
As indicated, we do not provide DVD orders, but only episode groups which only permit to reorder already existing episodes.
An exception can only be decided while the show is running, not years later.
There is one single exception : this is "Money Heist" and we will not do it again. This has cause much more problems than solving them.
There are no solutions allowed by the system.

In everything you wrote, both here and in previous posts, nothing else makes quite as clear as to the "why" you guys made the decisions you made as these statements.
I get that the system isn't set up to support this because that's just how it's set up - particularly the aspect of "episode groups...only permit to reorder already existing episodes".
I think most people are saying, "change the system set up to allow for this" - most likely without realizing the back end requirements and implications.
I appreciate the time you took to respond. Hopefully people read my post (and your replies) and don't just zombie submit more on this one since I tried to cover every angle.
Thank you for taking the time to respond so thoroughly. Have a good day!
