本作以日本古朝平安·镰仓时代为背景，叙述原業平、藤原定家等后世流传的和歌名匠，编撰「百人一首」的异色故事。在通讯媒介贫乏、喜悦悲伤全蕴在诗词的优雅年代里，恋爱之花、悄然绽开了。

The Hyakunin Isshu are an anthology of one hundred poems found in a trational Japanese card game called Karuta. Presented by the person who selected the writings, Fujiwara no Teika, this is a glimpse into the origin of some of them. Since the majority of them are love compositions, the focus remains on romance in ancient Japan.

Réinterprétation libérale du Isshu Hyakunin. Le "Isshu Hyakunin" est une anthologie comportant cent poèmes de cent poètes différents, écrits entre les 7e et 13e siècles au Japon. On retrouve ces poèmes dans un jeu de cartes traditionnel japonais appelé Karuta.

Présenté par la personne même qui a sélectionné les écrits, Fujiwara no Teika, il s'agit d'un aperçu de l'origine de certains d'entre eux. Puisque la majorité d'entre eux sont des compositions d'amour, l'accent reste mis sur le romantisme dans le Japon ancien.
