已经要35岁的“老男人”邦之还没有结婚。他本人也认为现在结婚也还太早，被称作食草男。此时因为经济不景气工作遭遇瓶颈，又不能继承家里的事业，邦之决定找一份新工作，偶然发现自己家所在的区役所在招聘临时工。但招聘条件是必须是已婚者，为了得到这份工作邦之异想天开撒谎已经有婚约且很快就要结婚，为此邦之不得不开始所谓的结婚生活

Amamiya Kuniyuki is the unemployed son of a tonkatsu restaurant owner. He finds a job that requires a married person, so he lies by saying that he has plans to marry, and he is forced to keep up the charade using Tobita Haruno, a part-time worker from the restaurant.
