The "technique" at the end of S5E2

OK, seriously? Are you kidding me?
The episode was otherwise decent... Plot advanced some, the sneaking through the greenhouse was effectively nerve-wracking...
But then the end in Page's bedroom...
"There's a technique for controlling your emotions... "
"Your mother and I can teach it to you..."
"Master this technique and you will control your emotions, you can see whassisname... "
(She pulls the chair close in front of her, dramatic and with import...)
... And this highly built up and Very Serious technique is... Rub your fingers together and think of your parents.
... Seriously?!... I literally laughed aloud as they sat critically watching Page rub her fingers before judging it "good."

Yeah, I agree that the payoff didn't measure up to the buildup. Fine in so far as a technique is concerned but they made it seem like it was going to be a discipline that required some length of teaching. A rare misstep in the writing/directing.

Yea that was a disappointment. Maybe it was something they were seemed to make up on the spot to calm her because it just came off so badly.

Yeah, just another reason it feels like the writers are running out of stuff and/or phoning it in. I wonder if there will even be another season after this one.
