So damn great! It's not how I thought it would end because I didn't think anyone would get out alive. I was convinced Dylan would be killed by Norman in the last episode but I am glad he got to go back to his family. His conversation with Emma made me think he was going to die. The actual ending was so moving and actually hadme in tears for a bit. Norman in an institution for the rest of his life would've been absolute torture, which some feel he deserved including me. But in the end I genuinely felt bad for him, for his untreated mental illness since childhood and the overbearing controlling Norman. They came to be completely dependent upon each other to where one literally couldn't live without one another. Dylan was caught in the middle. It was sad seeing how Romero completely fell into madness in that he genuinely loved Norma, but Norman wouldn't allow it.
Overall, one of my absolute favorite absolute series that did what most shows and movies can't: do the original justice. Going to miss this show.

It seems to me if you have a twisty show, they don't really do much surprises at the end to avoid more controversy.

I thought it was a kop out :/ In the end Norman gets what he wants and does nt have to face up to any of his crimes, ...... Dylan does nt even find out that his dad is dead. Honestly disappointed.

I agree
I didn't want Romero
to be killed, but I knew he was when he kept turning his back on Norman.
Me too.
All of this, but I really liked how it all turned out.

The After show was great too.
"I played the shyt out of Norma."- Vera Farmiga
Yes you did Vera!
and her imitation of Freddie Highmore whining about the show being over was hilarious

The ending was so good! It almost got me on tears (But I think it was because I didn't want it to end). I'll miss Vera as Norma like really miss her, she was literally perfect and so Freddie as Norman.

Yes! They did such an amazing job with those characters made them so believable that I do miss them ! Lol I felt bad for Norman because before he seriously went off the deep end he was struggling between the two personalities once he started realizing he was killing people. Norma was so real in the sense she wanted her happy family she waneeds her son healthy and happy but could never catch a break starting as a child. It was very sad I really hope they win every award this year!!!!

The finale was absolutely awesome and touching. I felt so sad for Norman and Dylan but it was the only ending possible. Bates Motel was the best show I've ever seen! It was so well put together and the cast was phenomenal! The show and the cast should be recognized.
Alas, what can replace it now? :(

I agree with you. I was very disappointed with the ending. I really wanted the movie ending.
