It's airing on Fridays so ratings expectations will be low. As long as it doesn't rate below a .3 in the 18-49 demo I think it will probably get renewed for another shorter 13 or so episode season.

I thought it was already set on being the finale season as well. Its starting right after TVD ends..makes me wonder if anyone from TVD will show up on TO.

They haven't officially cancelled or renewed it yet. Friday nights, plus a half season order is usually the kiss of death for a show. This would be the perfect opportunity for a few of the TVD cast to make an appearance on TO. I'm still hoping it does well enough to get renewed, even if they keep it at a 13 episode season.

Well you'd think they'd know by now as they're prob finished filming or close to it..how are they gonna end it if they don't know..unless they film 2 different endings..i would hate for s major cliffhanger then find out it got cancelled.

I think the networks usually make their renewal announcements sometime in May. Yea, a cliffhanger would stink if it was going to be cancelled.

Since TVD is ending, I can see them pulling some of those characters over to try and raise the ratings a bit. I know they already plan to bring Alaric over, and I'm guessing maybe Caroline to lure Klaroline fans (spoilers seem to hint there might be an open ending in the Caroline/Klaus department on TVD). Even so, I will be surprised if there is another season.

Ya but if they pull characters over then it's no longer the originals but then it would become the vampire diaries.

So far I've only heard of Alaric transferring over for sure, but Julie Plec just admitted today that she left Caroline's ending in regards to Klaus "open ended," whatever the heck that means. I guess that means Caroline could potentially show up on his door step in the series finale of TO, or it could mean we never hear from her again. lol. I'm guessing they'll probably do everything they can to entice Candice to joining them if they get a season 5. I personally hope they bring Caroline in because I'm partial to Hayley and Elijah together.

I guess if both series had short seasons and filmed at different times he could do both, although that didn't last long for Daniel Gillies (I know TO was producing full seasons at that time, though).

Something about that X-Men thing seems fishy. I read that article, but then I read another article that said JM wasn't cast but was just at the table read. Why the heck would he be at the table read if he's not on the show? Here's the article, for what it's worth:

I'm guessing maybe someone let something slip before they wanted it to be? In any case, it's looking less likely that there will be a Season 5. Claire Holt was also cast in an ABC pilot. I know she hasn't been in the show much, but I still think it's a sign.

Well, they spectacularly squashed the Klayley ship with what happened at the end of the TVD. I think we're supposed to understand that Caroline received the letter after the events of Season 4 of the TO...If Klaus is sending her love letters, then he's probably not with Hayley at the end of the series. I think that leaves the door wide open for Hayley and Elijah. I liked Klaus with Camille better, so I'm find with Hayley ending up with Elijah and Klaus ending up with Carolina.

That famous, "and he smiles" spoiler that they released for TO a couple of weeks ago makes sense now. It's supposed to be the last line of the fourth season and in reference to Klaus, and now I think it's going to be Caroline that makes him smile.
