I would have liked to know how the Partnership came to power and overthrew the constitution and how the Strigoi are a common thing now. I don't think that FEMA or the government would stand and let some private company control things in the event of a nuclear attack. It feels like they skipped a portion of the story to get where we are currently at and in the process created gaps.

I agree it's a pretty big time gap but I think it would be a different show if they made the fight a global one. This story has always been told as though New York is under a dome and the rest of the world is irrelevant so it would be weird to change that now. They can tell us bombs went off in Washington and Chicago and California but they aren't' going to show us.

Probably because it is the final season. There wasn't enough time to tell that story before wrapping it up.

They wasted so much time on things like Gus falling in love inside an Indian restaurant and helping a family move away that had no bearing on the real story. I guess they didn't want to spend the money that it would take to show the progression of events toward up until now. This could have been a terrific show, but they drove it into the ground. And I do hold Del Toro responsible, no matter how much he claims that he had nothing to do with the actual tv show.
