In other words he could just be a reporter writing a book ( or deliberately news column)part time. Maybe that is why the stories are so realistic mostly except for a couple of super natural elements.

Most importantly. In one ep pagan Greek gods seem to be real. This is terrible as the Greek gods were totally fake, unreal. And there is no reason to ever believe in them. And this is in contrast to Kolchak's using Holy crosses to nail vampires in another episode and in thr first TV movie. So often explained that the Bible has incredible scientific accuracy like jet streams and far more ( see my postings). It is true. And the Iliad and Odyssey OTOH both have no comparable amount of amazing scientific accuracy in either of them. But it is Kolchak's scripted narrations to the rescue. There are no Greek gods in existence as Kolchak simply makes the story all up!
