这部电视剧是通过讲述毫无血缘关系的两个女人，阴差阳错地成了同一家人的故事，展现出了现代社会真正的家庭关爱。

　　河润贞和吴东子妯娌两人，在同一天同一时刻，因故事失去了各自的丈夫，成了寡妇。从此毫无血缘关系的两人，开始了相依为命的生活。

　　作为双寡妇家的二妯娌河润贞 (申惠珍饰)靠汽车修理厂维持著家庭的生计，性格坚强，粗犷。相反，吴东子(朴海美饰)却在丈夫的庇护之下像花草一样生活，柔弱不堪。失去丈夫后，生活乱得一团糟。然而，她还是个很讨观众喜欢的角色。

　　东子有一个儿子和女儿，长子镇宇 (吴满锡饰)和真卿 (朴寒星饰)，润贞有一个女儿秀贤(李青儿饰)。与死板、爱惹是非的真卿相比，秀贤显得更聪明董事。然而，她们表姊妹俩却因为李汉(李重文饰)成了情敌。

　　与河润贞和吴东子的家庭形成鲜明对比的是李校长一家。李校长退休於教育公务员，是个保守的人物。有两个儿子，大儿子李哲 (李宗秀饰)是个模范生，小儿子李汉 (李重文饰)虽性格积极，但是从不受李校长的宠爱。

　　这样两个家庭互相交织，碰出了许多有趣的故事。体现了家庭的重要性，和人与人之间暖暖的温情。
