Discuss 90 Day Fiancé

OK, I thought they were going to continue following the "Before the 90 Days" people, but apparently not.

So, I just tuned in tonight and I already know two of the people who are on this. I didn't remember Molly until she mentioned the show she used to have with her business partner. It was a very uncomfortable show to watch. I think I tuned in for about one, maybe two episodes before I stopped watching.

Then there's Nicole and Azan. This is the first I'm hearing of her daughter. I remember her from being on the show before. She's sweet, but I remember thinking at the time that she really needed to grow up (I know she was young then, so that was part of the problem) and she needed to understand more about his culture. Of course he's not going to be affectionate with her in public. That's not the way his culture is. And I don't think him being here is going to change that. The thing about her story though, is that I remember watching her two or three years ago at least, but she's saying it's only been a year since she met Azan??? Or is it that this stuff is taped a year or more in advance? And from what little I've seen, she still strikes me as someone who needs more maturity. OK, here's my problem with Nicole's family. The mother isn't very different from mine. "You need to grow up. You're not mature enough." But then she doesn't let Niclole grow up and learn what she needs to learn because she's always trying to control what Nicole does. So of course Nicole is going to be emotionally immature and insecure. Her mother is doing more harm than good. And she's so critical. So of course Nicole is ALWAYS going to go on the defensive with her. It's a disaster waiting to happen. And Morocco is not the place for Nicole, but her mother is going to drive her straight to living in that country just so she can get away from her mom. Which means she'll go essentially from one controlling situation to another. NOT GOOD.

The rest I'm waiting to see. Although the girl from Thailand (unless there's someone else I'm thinking of and just confusing her with the girl from Thailand) is reminding me of Anfisa. I hope I'm wrong in this. OK, yep, I'm confusing Annie with the other girl. Sorry about that. Still trying to learn everyone's names since tonight is the first night I've watched this season.

Yep, I'm concerned about David and Annie. David concerns me because he's living WAY beyond his means and just like Jorge, I don't think he's told Annie that he doesn't have any money. Strikes me as another Jorge and Anfisa waiting to happen.

I agree. My sister went, and it wasn't as if they told anyone a stripper was going to be there.

Was...was he dressed like a baby? lol

Okay I just watched it. Poetist, yeah I feel the same about your points.

With David from Spain...it makes me wonder if he has something physically wrong down there, or if he was sexually abused or...something. His reaction seems over the top. Unless he just told her "can we not speak about sex in front of the camera" so he was blowing up at the fact that she did it anyway. But...there's something there that's unusual. Not his reluctance to talk about it, but how almost panicked he seemed to get it about it.

And lmao at Chris and them giving David and Annie this dingy, empty firehouse.

Maybe Elizabeth...I almost feel like she doesn't actually like her family or sisters and is trying to get Andrei to be the "bad guy" or something while pretending like she's defending them. So, if she can get Andrei mad at them to the point of uninviting them, she can blame it on Andrei to her family. Just a guess. And her dad is annoying me. If Andrei is right that he tried to Skype the dad (to talk with him before proposing), but the dad refused to ever talk to him -- and now the dad is using that as his excuse not to help with the wedding. It sounds to me like he really just disapproves of her marrying the "poor" Moldovan boy no matter what, so is trying to chase him off. And also it's like, they complain about not wanting to pay for their wedding, and then complain when he finds a way to be smart monetarily (getting married sooner to be able to work sooner). Then the family is like "No, too soon!" ok omg he was trying to find a solution to the money thing! It seems like he can't win no matter what he does, which again, just boils down to the dad not wanting her to marry him, period. (Marrying some already rich 45 yr old is better I guess.)

Aika, dumb move to choose the guy who had a vasectomy.

And yeah, totally agree about Molly and Luis. Luis is not even trying anymore. He doesn't want anything to do with the kids. She's like "but that's what you have to do!" and he's like "Well I ain't gonna do it, so take it or leave it." One of them just needs to end it. And I totally agree with you. Maybe she should have found better father material!! Not just some bartender half her age who insta-lusted after her and said he'd marry her like some Dominican Don Juan.

Andrei had me rooting for him until the preview for next week when he says he wants Elizabeth to be checking in with him all during her bachelorette party. Supervisor Andrei is back.

Something is definitely off with Spanish David. WTF was that all about?

American David, that one is even stranger. Who bankrolls a 48 year old man's life like that? The dynamic with him and Chris is just so bizarre. Why does Nikki put up with it? It does seem that Chris is pretty well off, but even so🤔

Yup, dumb move on Aika's part.

Molly said she does not want another child but that is exactly what she is getting. Olivia is more mature than Luis.

And then we come to AzNic. They can't seriously still be thinking this is going to work. It just has to be for the show.

Oh yeah, I forget about Azan and Nicole. It has to just be for the show...either that, or Azan's family is pushing for it for some reason (thinking he'll have money to send back). I don't know.

Lol I still think Andrei seems to be the only reasonable person this entire season. I mean, he really hasn't complained about anything and is always looking for solutions and seems to really like Libby and want to be with her, in whichever country that is. As for him wanting her to "check in"...it seems like all of the editing wants to make him seem bad but I bet when we see the show next week, it won't be. Maybe he'll have been worried for four hours or something, but I bet it won't turn into a big thing for real with him (like, maybe he'll be annoyed for 10 seconds). I bet she'll make it more of a thing than it actually is with him. Just a hunch...

And yeah, the David - Chris relationship is weird. Nikki should be a lot more mad at her dumb husband than David. Like, David doesn't owe her anything but Chris does. It was wrong for him not to tell her about the 10-year sponsorship thing. I read someone say (just as a total guess) if maybe David has some blackmail material on Chris or something. There's something strange there. Chris is weird. Oh, and was the preview showing David cussing at his daughter, like "That's none of your f-ing business" etc. If so, he's sort of two-faced. He comes across all nice and sh*t until he's drunk and starts trashin' people, or in the preview when he's being nasty to his daughter. Charming bunch of people they are... And, I know she's a scammer and her family was ripping David off and all that...but I do feel bad for Annie. She must be feeling SO lonely living in that stark firehouse with strange David and literally no one else around that she knows....that would suck.

I wondered about David maybe having some dirt on Chis, something he doesn't want Nikki to know?

I agree that Andrei was the reasonable one last night. Elizabeth's dad was a jerk to him and he just dealt with it. We shall see who is right about next week. relaxed

Lol yeah so far nothing Andrei has done has really pissed me off. He's probably one of the only "contestants" or whatever it's called on this show in a while that I've really liked. But, maybe in real life he's creepier, who knows. He just seems no BS and really level-headed. I'm not into thinking that women are subordinate and I don't like people trying to control me, so if he is really like that in IRL it would suck. But yeah, it's like they keep trying to ruffle him or throw him curveballs but he dodges it every time and outsmarts everyone haha. He doesn't take the bait and always just diffuses stuff. He's done 0 pissing and moaning about not being in a "cool" part of America. He's not whining about money (unlike her family). He has a plan to get a job...etc. That's better than almost everyone else on this dang show

From the pics and acrobatics, there was nothing "baby" about him. eggplant

Perfectly stated. Either he's been abused or he has a problem. I don't think it was due to her speaking on camera. You don't act weird like that, even if you two had mutually agreed not to speak on camera about sex. Anger or silence would be more appropriate. That panic thing was odd.

And lmao at Chris and them giving David and Annie this dingy, empty firehouse.

LOL. What was Annie talking about dream home? Why does she think David can ever get her one?

Good point!

No, the dad didn't refuse to talk to him. Andrei said that he had problems skyping.

It sounds to me like he really just disapproves of her marrying the "poor" Moldovan boy no matter what, so is trying to chase him off. Well, all of that is normal. 90 days or 2 weeks is too soon to know someone -- let alone let them marry your daughter.

Aika, dumb move to choose the guy who had a vasectomy.

She could have stayed in the Philipines and got pregnant.

Did he ever leave? Seriously, he's been pretty much the same dude imo.

American David, that one is even stranger. Who bankrolls a 48 year old man's life like that? The dynamic with him and Chris is just so bizarre. Why does Nikki put up with it? It does seem that Chris is pretty well off, but even so🤔

I don't think it's weird. Chris has money and he enjoys his friendship w/David, so he gives David money to keep him in his life. It's like someone winning the lottery and their friends are broke. I can see the lotto winner doling out some cash to keep the friendship. Otherwise, there would be a great divide, and the poor friend couldn't do the same activities as the rich friend.

Okay Poetist, I'm glad he wasn't wearing a diaper at least. (the stripper). That would just take it all to an extra creepy level.

And I agree about Aika, unless her goal was to get a baby rooted in America for better opportunity. But still, she picked the wrong guy for that. Strange. I hate to be shallow but...okay the more we've gotten to know the guy's personality, the more unattractive he's become, but when I first saw Josh, I thought on average he was better looking than most of the other "dudes who search abroad for wives because they can't find one that suits them in the US." So maybe she went for his looks over logic. Not that I'm saying he's Brad Pitt, but, again, comparatively speaking. I don't know. There's probably not a great pool to pick from as far as eligible bachelors for this kind of thing. And now I'm not talking just about looks but the whole package. A lot of these men and women don't have much to offer...if anything, they have bad track records and are looking overseas to dodge out of all that it seems. This Josh guy apparently has a domestic violence record too. Charming

Compared to Homer Simpson David, Josh is decent looking. While it's believable that Aika might find him attractive, he is just as much a loser as the other Americans. I think she hears her biological clock ticking, so odd that she would choose him. She seems like she knows exactly what she is doing so she must have seen him as her best option.

She might have wanted a white American guy, and Josh is white and American. Money seems to have been her second priority.

He's still the pick of the litter, but I don't know what is your issue with his personality -- from what I've seen on TV. To me, Aika is the one with the inferior personality of the two. Granted, Josh is no saint, but he at least seems to like her opposed to Aika, who is ready to drop him at a drop of a hat.

FYI:

I'm starting a thread about Before the 90 Days and After. I want to know what happened to the guy in the Philipines who wouldn't eat the pork. I can't seem to dig up dirt on that, but I did find out something juicy about Paul and Karine.

LOL Poetist, okay you can have Josh and I'll take Andrei. :P

What started to rub me wrong was his insistence on her modelling, especially considering she didn't want to do it. He seemed to just want to parade her around like a trophy and nothing more. Unless that was all fabricated for the show. And he still lives with roommates, I think he has no relationship with his kids, etc...he just doesn't seem like a very appealing guy. Maybe I'm being influenced by other stuff I've read about him hitting former wives/girlfriends etc too, and having substance abuse problems lol

Yeah, Josh is no bargain. He seemed OK at first, but as more dirt has come out, he moved down the list. I don't think any of these men are worthy of any of these women. Even Azan, who I still think is a total user, could get out of this trap with Nicole any time but chooses not to. Why else is he still with her? The only one I have even the slightest hope for is Andrei, and that is very slight. He did move up in my opinion last episode. I know you disagree, Poetist. We shall see.
