Even if this episode is listed as being the single episode of season 16 on the official site, it was broadcasted during the course of season 15. So, it should be listed in season 15 based on its broadcast date.
Consequently, the following season, officially numbered 17, should be listed as season 16 on our site.

Hmm… that seems like an odd and arbitrary call to me -- if you're not going to match the BBC site for series numbers (which seems risky to me given that people will probably continue to add episodes to Series 17), the Centenary Special episode should probably be moved to the Specials season then instead of plonked in the middle of Series 15 which is wasn't a part of either in production or official site terms (similar to the Christmas episode which airs in the regular timeslot but is Christmas-themed and lives in the Specials season)

Episodes MUST be listed in the order of their original broadcast. Consequently, we can't respect the order given by the the official BBC site.
But, we respect the will of the BBC to consider this episode as a regular episode part of a numbered season, unlike the Christmas episodes that are listed on the BBC site outside of any season.
To avoid the wrong creation of season 17, the ability to create new seasons have been removed and users will have to create a report when the BBC will create a new season.

Finally, it appears that the season 15 is not yet finished. So, the episode currently listed as season 17 on the BBC website should also be listed inside season 15.

Hey Superboy.
Season 15 of Pointless Celebrities on TMDB is now even more of a mess. It currently contains 40 episodes with new ones continuing to be added to it, despite the BBC airing shows listed as Series 16 since August 2023 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01d09p5/episodes/guide.
The BBC is clearly using production blocks as "Series" on their website, yet it's nonsensical that episodes are still being added to Series 15.
How should this be cleaned up?

The seasons and episodes of the last seasons have been cleaned.
Warning :
The addition of new seasons is locked to avoid the creation of a new season 17 with the above episodes. When the real season 17 starts, feel free to reopen this report to ask for its creation.

Apologies, I was editing s16 to add new episode and guests etc and backfilled episodes 1-3 of the first bullet point. Now realise these should be deleted. Please can you delete these and renumber the remaining episodes.

Possibly as a result of the post immediately above, the episode names are 3 out.
12th August 2023 Episode 1 is named "Episode 4"
And so on to
10th February 2024 Episode 12 is named "Episode 9"
This results in there being:-
I would change them but the name field is locked for me.

I have fixed and locked the names of the latest episodes. They weren't locked. Only the already correct previous episodes were locked.

12th August 2023 Episode 16x1 is named "Episode 4".
The Translated Name (English) field is locked.
Now all the episode titles are 3 out.
16th March 2024 Episode 16x13 is named "Episode 16"

Er...
So why isn't Episode 16x4 named Episode 4?

Episode 16x1 is BBC Centenary Special Thu 28 Dec 2023

The episode "BBC Centenary Special" was originally broadcasted during the course of the previous season on November 25, 2022. So, it had to be listed in that season as 15x12.
The first episode really broadcasted in Season 16 is the one from August 12, 2023, which is consequently numbered 16x1. But it keep its "Episode 4" name assigned by the BBC. (The same way that the episode 15x27 broadcasted on June 3, 2023) has kept its name of "Season 16, Episode 3".)

So, you're following the BBC for episode titles but not for season episode numbers?
How odd and arbitrary and a recipe for confusion.

Yes.
We follow the original broadcast order by the BBC. If they don't number the episodes in that order, this is not our fault.
If you want them in another order, you can create an episode group.
The first source of confusion is the BBC itself who have broadcasted a few episodes of seasons 16 and 17 during the course of season 15.
