how the hell was Elektra able to knock out Luke ? The guy's bullet proof for god's sake.
She didn't, well not really. The gas did most of the work.
the show felt cheap; was nothing like The Avengers. I guess they didn't have the budget for a bigger showdown with all the heroes in it.
What heroes do you mean? All of them were in it: Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Colleen Wing, and Misty Knight. That's pretty much everybody in Heroes for Hire (so far in the series). Even Claire Temple (Night Nurse) was part of the showdown.
You mean Punisher? He's not part of Heroes for Hire (nor the Defenders). Hellcat, Patsy Walker, the only actual Defender from the comics in the Marvel Netflix series, has yet to put on her claws (I guess Luke Cage could arguably be called a Defender, but he was one only in the Ultimates Universe.
). I kind of hoped that she would have during this series, so that probably adds to the list.
Where's Punisher ? Wasn't he in one of the trailers ?
Punisher shows up sort of, in the end of credits teaser (for his show) on Episode 8.
Susan Sarandon's character was bland, including her sudden death.
What character was Susan Sarandon playing? I never saw her. Do you mean Sigourney Weaver? Wow...you lose all cred if that's the case.
JJ leaves, looks at computer screen, comes back... ok, whatever.
She actually didn't. She got drunk and checked on her clients instead. It was because she learned about the planned attack on the restaurant from the guy in the car that caused her to come back.
First of all I enjoyed the show and I'm not trying to bash it in any way. It's just about expectation; I was expecting a 'bigger showdown', production-wise. Again, I guess they didn't have the big budget movies have.
Yeah I thought Punisher would be in it. I only know the characters who were introduced in previous shows (never read the comics).

My bad, I thought it was Susan Sarandon from the Alien movies. They look so much alike though.
I'm always annoyed when heroes have qualms about killing their enemies. They have one of the Hand captured. Just have Luke or Jessica tear his arms off! Why wait until he's a mortal threat to remove his head?
Luke's invulnerability was underutilized. The bullets start flying and he just turns his back to protect the others. I also need to see swords snapping in two when they hit his arms, or him catching the blade.
Good:
More glowing fist is these eight episodes than the entire Iron Fist run!
Every Iron Fist punching Luke Cage was great.
Just great to see these characters together, finally.
The show was kind of meh, which is sad. I liked Daredevil and Jessica Jones (calling him "Devil Boy") and Luke (although as stated looked was taking out way too easily way too often).
The weak point is Iron Fist. That character/actor is just not good for these shows. He makes dumb decisions and everyone else looks dumb when they go along with him. We still don't know the limits of his power, he just uses it when the plot needs him but can't use it to escape being tied to a chair because the plot says he can't.
The Hand seemed way less powerful once they were all in the same room. Weaver was okay but she didn't really seem that interested half the time. Also no real measure of how powerful Elektra is since she can apparently knock Luke out with a punch but not cave in Matt's skull or chest when she hits him.
Outside of the fights involving Daredevil the fights are mostly horrible by being filmed in extreme close-up or in the dark with a lot of jerky movement and quick cutting.
It wasn't horrible but it was very meh. Hoping DD season 3, JJ seasons 2 and Punisher pick up the slack.
After all the build-up for years, I'm so glad the heroes got together (Finally! - as Halbestram said)
The annoying character of Karen didn't steal too many scenes (as she did in the last season of Daredevil)
Seeing Elektra and Stick again.
Matt still having feelings for Elektra.
Jessica's scenes with Matt -- loved her quips and their attempts to stalk each other (great cat-mouse-cat scenes). Kind of thought there was some chemistry between them there.
Seeing Luke back in Harlem and reuniting with Jess. (I kind of wish the two end up being together as they did in the comic books - much as I love Claire, I prefer Luke with Jess.)
What I disliked
Why did they even hesitate killing off the members of the Hand? They know they couldn't get much answers out of them, so the moment they got one or two, why not just cut off their heads?
Iron Fist - Madame Gao (or was it Alexandra or even Stick?) is right, he is the dumbest Iron Fist ever!
Inconsistency in powers again (as seen in Jessica Jones). Elektra has been shown to punch off Luke in some scenes, with the same force wouldn't she have killed the less 'bullet/shock proof' heroes?
Why don't members of the Hand, just try to shoot them on sight? (It would've been more efficient and logical.)
It is no longer enough for the characters in this show to just refer to 'the Incident' (the aliens invading NY and the Avengers coming to the rescue). It is kind of dumb for them to think that they're the only ones who could protect 'the city', when everyone knows of the existence of the Avengers, and based on the last Spidey movie, maybe even Spider-Man. At least a reporter like Karen or Trish would have known about Spidey...
In theory, the Agents of Shield series is in the same universe -- shouldn't they be aware of the Hand's activities and would be involved in trying to eliminate them (or are they that focused on Hydra?).
- I would have to wait for years for a Defenders sequel.

Might not happen, at least probably not on Netflix. It's up in the air at the moment. Netflix only has Marvel until Disney's own streaming network service is launched sometime in 2018 (the original deal was only up to the Defenders, but they managed to arrange for more). Netflix is actively trying to hold on to the series, so it's a wait and see kind of thing.

Have heard of this news and I did wonder about how the Netflix superheroes will be affected. From what I heard these superhero movies would continue for a while...
If they do move to the new Disney streaming service, there would be more possible crossovers with the Agents of Shield or even just guest star appearances. I wonder if they would dampen down the violence (hope not).
I just hope another Defender series would happen. This one was not perfect and has it's annoying bits, but overall, I enjoyed it! I would love to see them more together. I'd settle for one character showing up in another series (as Luke did with Jessica's series). Jessica showing in a Daredevil series or vice versa would be great if I see more of their banter (just to see Jessica's smirk with Daredevil's costume is priceless!
I liked it a lot, but on the other hand, my expectations weren't that high given it is a super hero show on Netflix. I've learned how high the bar is set by now. The only thing that bothered me was that some of the fighting scenes were horribly choreographed and also edited in a very confusing manner. Especially when in a large group, and it didn't help that they were all wearing dark clothes in a dark environment. The song during the final battle was also a poor choice. Ok so it was the battle of New York, but hiphop? Really?
IF fought actually better (more spectacular) than in his own show
IF vs LC fight was kind of funny and had a very good ending, LC didn't expect that punch at all.
Turkish cook at the beginning of ep 3 (I'm Turkish)
Bad :
Iron Fist is supposed to be THE martial arts expert, right ? So his moves should have been flawless, like Bruce Lee + Van Damme 360 round-kick flawless. But he moves and looks more like a parkour runner.
What if the architect in JJ's apartment shot Elektra instead of himself ? He just had to turn the gun 90 degrees lol
Does JJ ever change her outfit ? Or does she have a full wardrobe of the same ?
the officer, who lost her arm in the end, was not convincing as a cop at all. Is she from the comics ?
Death of Stick. I liked him and his death didn't contribute much to the story. They should resurrect him for DD season 3.
(as @ToniTurnyne already stated in a different way) My biggest problem, they're part of the MCU but they didn't reference it at all. They should have at least joked about it "are we the new Avengers now?" or similar.
"The Hand is everywhere, in everything, have so much influence" etc. But all we saw was a bunch of ninjas. There sould have been a few 'Hydra'-like twists.
No way DD can hear noises happening so many floors above him. I mean the sound waves must travel all the way down to the lobby without getting lost to get heard by him. Physically not possible.
All that being said, I still recommend the show. Despite having a few bad / improvable sides to it (which are mostly there because expectations) the show is still very watchable.
SS from Avatar??? Susan Sarandon (SS) DID NOT star in Avatar, but Sigourney Weaver did.
Sigourney Weaver played Ripley in the Alien series, the anthropologist in Avatar and Alexandra in Defenders.
If you look at a picture of Sigourney playing Ripley, I cannot see how you could mistake Sigourney for Susan Sarandon given the big round eyes Susan Sarandon has.

They actually showed that two or three times (fighting Elektra for example).
My biggest gripe was: NO PUNISHER.

You just keep getting further into having less cred don't you? SW was the actress in the Alien/s films.
