I'm not sure if the board allows for this function, but some sort of thumbs up or like button for comments would be great. That way everyone who agrees with a comment wouldn't necessary have to reply to that comment with "+1" or "I agree," or other things along that line. It's especially needed if we're going to be receiving emails for every comment in a thread/discussion. It will get pretty tiresome getting 10 emails with people doing nothing but agreeing with a previous post/statement.

The multiple emails was recently solved with the Notifications bell icon next to your name at the top of the homepage and to the left above Your Account. Click or touch the bell. It's awesome!

Go uncheck the first email box in your Accounts > Notifications

Update: this box. "Email me about new replies on threads I'm watching?"

That's great. Thanks. It would still be nice to get a like or thumbs up button for comments though. It's something that imdb never had, but I always thought it needed it.

Something i see as a mandatory function is a quote button in the individual posts (i'd say a "reply" button too, but as this board seems to be just "flat", thats not really required).

And the autopopup of the emoticon list when pressing : is driving me absolutely nuts (doesn't seem to be any way of turning that off in options, at least not that i can find).

Thats what immediately pops to mind anyway :)

I've made the migration as well. Saw a post about this place on IMDB before the close down and then its the first search result on google (from a reddit post) as an alternative to IMDB. Hoping for your success. Also hoping this site isnt blocked at my job lol.

Unfortunately that board got closed down a little too early yesterday. Didn't get to quite say my proper goodbyes, although I did get it in on my favorite board.
