Discuss Lucky Luke

Item: Lucky Luke

Language: fr-FR

Type of Problem: Design_issue

Any news about this ?

Sorry about the delay. I had to consult the other mods since the original airing is very unusual. I think we can bend the rules just a little bit and only keep the 25 minutes episode. slight_smile

No problem for the delay.

Then, I will reorder the episodes later today. For the date, should I use the first one or the one of the 25 minutes episode ?

I guess it would make sense to use the air date of the full episode. Or maybe the air date of the last part? You can choose since we're winging it. cat

It seems that the update is ùpre complicated than ot was initially planned.

I'm not sure if I forgot to read the start of the French Wikipedia page ( https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucky_Luke_(s%C3%A9rie_t%C3%A9l%C3%A9vis%C3%A9e_d%27animation,_1983) ) or if this page has been updated since I have read it.

This page indicates :

  • "La série a d'abord été diffusée aux États-Unis en 1983" (but the English Wikipedia page list airdates in 1984 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucky_Luke_(1983_TV_series)#Episodes , These dates are the ones currently listed here. They are align to the French airing period but with a different episodes order than the Inathèque data.)

Another problem :

  • We are currently listing 2 seasons, the second one being in 1986.

  • The French wikipedia page as well as the English ones are speaking of only one season of 26 episodes.

  • The second season is only mention on the German Wikipedia page ( https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucky_Luke_(Zeichentrickserie) ) and it seems that they have been produced by another company.

  • On the Inathèque, there are effectively episodes listed in 1991 that seems to be aligned with this "2nd" season. The first one being "La ville fantôme" on the 15/09/1991 (http://inatheque.ina.fr/doc/TV-RADIO/DA_CPC91011906/la-ville-fantome).

So, here are my questions :

  • Which origin should be considered for this series ?

  • Are the 2 seasons really the same series or 2 different series ?

Update : I just see this page : http://www.mediatoon-distribution.com/fr/catalogue/46/lucky-luke/ listed as the official website here and on the French Wikipedia page. Based on the content of this page, it seems that we should consider this series as French (even the episodes have been aired in the US before) and that this series has 52 episodes (meaning the 2 seasons). Can you confirm ?

In the meantime, I haven't made any modifications to the current listing.

For reference, here are the data that are available on the Inatheque for the 1st season :

There is a little problem with the episode titled "Les Dalton dans le blizzard". The date of the complete airing is not listed pn Wikipedia. Based on the airdates of the other episodes, we can assume that the date is the 16/12/1984, but without a proof.

Update : The complete airdates are available here : https://animeguides.com/guides/detaille/luckyluke84.html

I have done the reordering.

I have use this for the 1st season (the 2nd season had a standard airing).

Small problem for the complete airdate of the episode titled "Hors la loi". The Inatheque indicates the 20/10/1984 (a saturday) and AnimeGuides indicates the 21/10/1984 (a sunday). All other episodes have been aired in complete form on sunday. For the moment, I have kept the date coming from the Inatheque.

I could not figure out for sure whether they episodes were originally released as a second season or a second series. But they have since been distributed as one series in multiple countries including France, Germany and Canada. So I'm in favour of keeping them as one series until someone find undeniable proof they should be split. cat

Yes, I agree. The first episode might have aired at a special time.
