I'm still holding out for something but I actually sorta enjoy this environment. Sadly, I forgot to save any posts I made, so my account may be a little moot on that aspect

Yes! I think TMDB is a great replacement. I will never return to imdb to look up anything.

A couple times since the 12th (my move here) I've copied stuff over to here. I've started a thread using a movie's trivia info. I figured it may start people talking.

IMDB is dead to me. Long live TMD (unless it closes message boards)

IMDB refugee here, too. I miss being able to join into discussions so easily. I have tried to start some here on other movies/shows, but, it really seems to be taking a while to get others into posting.

Each time I go back to a movie/show page using the new Notifications bell I check the General link at the top of the thread to see the posts. I often see the amount of threads growing for the newest stuff. It will take time especially for the older, lesser watch things.

Agreed. The board is moving forward pretty darn well, but it does take some time to rebuild!

I am still sad about the loss of the IMDB message board. I was on it for 10 years, it helped me find films I could not remember the title of and every time I was watching a new film or a new show my first instinct was to go on Imdb to see what people were thinking about it. Imdb was my number 1 website, I nearly went there every day. Now that they took off any type of interactivity between users I rarely go there, they took all the life and fun out of the site. I am thankful that TMDB recognized that there was still a need for these types of interaction within the movies/TV fandom however it really needs a boost in order to reach the popularity of IMDB. I had to actually search "Imdb message board replacement" and check various page before I was directed to TMDB. It is a good site and it has potential but more people need to be aware of it.

As much as I would love that (Imdb board coming back) . I doubt it will happen :( A message board very rarely come back from the dead. I think it was a ridiculous decision because as you said 12 years! 12 years of discussions and sometime messages that contained very useful information. Yes, there were a few A-holes who spoiled the fun for all of us for time to time but overall it was a really great hang out for movie fans! I agree with you , they need more staff if they want this board and the site to gain popularity. With all considered I am really impressed by what they achieved so far! With that said what can we do to help?! I really would like to spread the words about TMDB as I am sure a lot of people who are still grieving about the IMDB message board are not aware of TMDB.

I just did a google for “movie information” and the results are; IMDb site Wikipedia IMDb Wikipedia Film TMDb
Back at the beginning of this year when I did the same this site didn’t even come up. I found thi site because of a comment about it on the IMDb boards. It’s a shame Wikipedia staff are such @sses about their history with this site or it would probably even higher up. IMDb didn’t happen overnight.

There’s a thread about the issue that Travis posted earlier this year when these boards were opened.

I love TMDb and am on here every day, to one extent or another. There seems to be a large number of regular users, between the message boards frequenters and API users, etc.
It'll be great if, over time, a lot more people will settle here; I know we all miss the way it used to be on the IMDb boards (that had a gazillion users), that basically no matter how obscure a movie or series or celebrity you might post on the board of, someone, somewhere, would typically comment something back either within minutes, hours, or a week or two or three. There were always bustling discussions going, with several participants, after the airing of any t.v. series' latest episode. That, of course, was possible thanks to IMDb having millions of users. Here on TMDb I'm quite confident we have thousand of members (since this is a long-established site, with apparently lots of users, even before the IMDb exodus of February 2017), though whether there's less than 5,000 here or more, I guess only Travis knows.
By the way, I have never seen, and know nothing about, Stranger Things, but just happened to see the Subject line of this thread, was curious, so popped in to check out what is being discussed.
