I bought the Season 1 DVD of this series in a local store's closeout sale today. It was a blind buy for me, having heard of the series, and feeling interested by what the case says, but really otherwise knowing nothing about it (and, by the way, the season DVD only costed me $3.19 USD).

Is Season 1 pretty good, and am I likely to enjoy it? Also, is it a season that concludes with a cliffhanger that'll compel me to need to seek out S2?
