Amazing to think Star Trek: The Next Generation is 30 years old. First episode was broadcast September 28, 1987.

Yes, and I would say that Marina Sirtis is completely unrecognizable now.

@The Midi-chlorian Count : When I saw the Klingons in the trailer I wondered if it would be set in the Kelvin timeline. I personally think the Kelvin Klingons looked cool, but if this is set in the prime timeline, they're going to have to explain why the Klingons appearance looks so different from the prime Klingons.

What do you mean here Maria - the difference between the look of Klingons from TMP onwards and these guys? Or the difference between them and TOS human looking Klingons?

@The Midi-chlorian Count: I meant the difference between the Prime timeline Klingons after TMP onward.

Ah, ok got you - I'm not really an expert on the "carpet series'" (TNG, DS9, VOY), but asides from them was there not always some variations made on the ridge designs over time? They do look most like the STID version though... Will be interesting to see if it is explained, perhaps with them being another offshoot, or whether it's just aesthetics...

I know that there are fans that are wondering if, as shown in the trailer, that Sarek is telling a young Spock in a flashback that his tongue is too human to speak Vulcan correctly (WTF? )

However, after I watched the trailer I realized that Sarek is talking to a younger version of Soneta Martin-Green's character!

If you listen to her speak, she sounds a lot like a Vulcan. She's human, but possibly raised by Vulcans.

Frankly i couldn't recognize her even back then without those contact lenses. Also she 62. What do you expect.

The others - Frakes, Spiner, Stewart, etc - are still recognizable.

Meanwhile, back at the OP.......
