Between bouts of cocaine and cracking jokes at the expense of little girls, Bumfluff McRiker has stated there'll be a Mirror universe episode according to Trek Movie.
It's not said whether it'll be the episode which he is directing which will have it but we can at least all rest assured that due to the Mirror Universe there will be one episode of Discovery which will not be pandering to the politically correct crowd other than to show how badly things might go if we don't remove the equality force field.
I was thinking that the whole series was set in the Mirror Universe with only this one being set in the Prime universe, that might explain why it looks so bad.

That might be a helpful way of thinking about it.

If Discovery takes place prior to Kirk's era, I wonder how they would explain Kirk never having heard of the Mirror Universe?

"Classified, ultra-compartmentalized?"
But really, the Mirror stuff is all crap anyway, so it hardly matters.
