Item: One for the Road (0x1)
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: "One for the Road" is currently set to be released as part of an upcoming sixth season according to the Amazon (UK) website. As new seasons need to have at least two episodes, "One for the Road" has been added as a special and an episode group has been created for the order on the Amazon website.
If season 6, and therefore "One for the Road," is released as a multi-episode season (i.e. at least two episodes) please submit a content report and a sixth season will be created.

It's literally written season 6 at the broadcaster... Another judicious choice which multiplies the reports... Another very intelligent and logical choice.

I really dont get it. Everybody including the people making it calliong it season 6, and here we ahve to wait till a second episode will come to let them make a season 6 here ? what part of it should be named as they do on this site and not what mods think it is? And on that part, its allready known it will continue, As Hammond said, it will go on, we ashostwill stop but amazon will continue with the grand tour but with different presenters. But i dont wanna wait cause they want to do this their way and not the way it should be, like the correct way.

And this exception for new seasons has existed for years. It predates my joining the website as a contributor by several years. That exception is also why Black Mirror's "White Christmas" episode, the example given in the TV Bible, is listed as part of the Specials season not part of the original single-episode Series 3 that aired on Channel 4.
One exception for new seasons is that they should have at least two episodes. If it's a single episode season, it gets added to the Specials season.
There won't be another episode. "One for the Road" was announced as the final episode with Clarkson, Hammond, and May and the series won't continue without them as hosts.

Regardless of whether this predates you joining as a mod surely you must realise this is wrong and you should try to change this ridiculous "rule" if members are complaining it is wrong. I could understand this "rule" if it was Series 1 Episode 1 BUT this is Series SIX. You DO NOT stop other Shows from having a new Series added and only 1 episode being added to that series, I have done it myself, so why single out this show for this ridicules "rule"?

Yes, we do. This exception applies to all TV entries equally. We can't check every single TV entry so some obviously fall through the cracks but that doesn't mean we allow new single-episode seasons.
If you've added new single-episode seasons to other TV entries, that is against the guidelines. Please report them and the seasons will be fixed in accordance with the TV Bible.
This show was not singled out as the exception applies to all TV entries equally.

When a new season starts like it did with season 5, how long did it took before episode 2 was there? till then we had a season 5 with 1 episode. So still dont get it.

We are not talking about seasons that will have multiple episodes but only the first one is currently listed. We are talking of seasons which have one and only one episode.

To echo some of the other users responses, I appreciate there are rules, however surely these rules can be amended or exceptions made?
Amazon Prime is listing it as Season 6, so are other sites such a IMDB etc
I predominantly used Trakt to track my viewing, this episode doesn’t even show up on my list as its been put as a special rather then a new season which it is
Can an exception be made?

I agree with HIK213! Rules are good and needed, but when they are clearly wrong (like in this case), breaking tracking apps and causing more problems than they solve, they should be changed. Or at least an exception should be taken into account. Thanks for listening to your users needs and not only blindly applying rules. :-)

Was refered here by Superboy(after posting a similar bug for this show).
I understand rules but the rules should be such that this resource (TMdB) matches the broadcasters. A hard argument was made for Dr Who that because the BBC called the most recent season season 1 that TMdB had to follow that, why is this show any different and as Amazon call it the only episode (that will ever exist) of Season 6 (should be noted in some regions it’s also called episode 4 of season 5 by Amazon) then the rules should be (as was with Dr Who) that TMdB follows suit. An arbitrary rule of TMdBs’ own making that goes against the broadcaster info doesn’t serve the community.

Common sense, this should match how it is presented on Amazon - so Season 6 Episode 1

I was about to report that season 6 episode 1 was missing as well. Lots of people have beaten me to it though lol.
Is this going to get fixed or will it forever be wrong on this website?

Was referred here by Superboy as well after posting a question about the ordering of this episode. To some extent I can understand that there have to be rules, but ultimately we should follow the numbering of the makers and not our interpretation of what a season and episode should be right?

This doesn't make sense at all. Why have it as a Special when it clearly isn't. "One exception is that a new season should have at least two episodes" - WHY?
Take from the TV Bible:-
Special episodes are any episodes that did not originally air as part of a regular, usually numbered season. - Well, this does have a number, Amazon clearly labelled this as "Season 6 Episode 1"
Sometimes a network will call an episode a "special" episode—as an example, "in this special holiday themed episode"—but still assign it a season and episode number; in those cases, it should not be added to the special season here but, instead, to the season assigned to it by the network.
Amazon did not label as a Special episode, they listed it as "Season 6 - Episode 1"
Season 6 Episode 1 (The One and Only Ever Episode) https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Grand-Tour-Season-6/dp/B0CYXXKXBP
Common sense prevails

Rules are ok, but an episode is an episode and not a special. There should be room for exceptions. What do you do when season 7 starts? There are already rumors to continue The Grand Tour with new hosts, see here: https://www.motor1.com/news/732529/the-grand-tour-new-hosts-confirmed/
So please don't be stubborn and create season 6.
