Was pretty excited to hear they were turning this into a show, started watching it and less than 10 minutes in I already started to dislike the characters. 30 minutes in and I was hoping the mist would kill everyone and then they'd introduce a bunch of new likeable characters. Going to try one more episode. It's a shame. This looks like another Under The Dome.
Also I predict the girl was raped by her emo friend. Could be wrong but the show seems so badly written I'm willing to bet it's equally as predictable.

Exactly, it's that "who me?" attitude that comes up too much with him. In that convo with his wife after the daughter admitted about the party mishap, he acted like someone fifteen years younger with teen-aged angst. I'm going to watch that again tonight just for a good laugh. And I'll get another look at him in the back seat of the get-a-way car from the precinct. That's good for a laugh too.

So far the show sounds like it's patterned after The Walking Dead: a survival horror story where the people are more dangerous than the monsters are. But I'll watch a few episodes to judge for myself.

Yes, exactly, it's his whole persona.
Yes I think there's going to be a lot of (unintentional) laughs with him and the whole show.

Well I watched the first episode and it does look like a poorly produced adaptation of the short story. It's not half as scary as the short story. It's not even funny like you said either.
I don't understand why it's so hard to successfully adapt a Stephen King novel or short story to film. I'll watch one more episode and if it doesn't get better, I'm moving on.

When the cop threw the soldier in jail, that's when I gave it up and turned it off. It really is terrible.

I am hate watching this show. Was looking forward to it, and I had a feeling it would be bad.

These are cardboard characters with cardboard motivations, and the moth scene, ugh. Really , he was genetically mutated within seconds to grow his own set of wings? It was so anticlimactic. Now we have to be afraid of a moths flying around? So what.

And earlier I said Francis Conroy's character was the only likable one- I am now taking that back.
This!
I had hoped he would fly off carrying all of them. The tattoo on his back looked scarier than the moth monster he changed into.
It's like a bad comedy-only not that good. And in between commercials the producer/director guy(or whoever he is) has the nerve to actually tell us 'inside the show ' tidbits -AS IF it's really a great show and we are wondering what happened behind the scenes.

I know! I'm so disappointed in Frances Conroy for appearing in this mess too! I bought the show off I-Tunes and they gave us the "inside the show" stuff. I can't even bother with it. Why would I want to go into a show this two-dimensional? They sold this as a 10 show series event. I wonder if they're going to turn it into another season, for the money, without addressing the "event" part. I'll bet they try.

Yeah what's with all the bugs attacking people? That's not scary. It's been done to death.
